Product Overview — Fiber Optic Cable Raw Materials
Fiber optic cable is built up from a defined set of polymer, yarn, tape, and metallic components, each performing a specific role: PBT and HDPE/MDPE form the loose-tube and sheath structure, thixotropic jelly and water swellable yarn/tape provide water blocking, aramid and binder yarn give tensile strength, and steel tape or steel wire rope provide armoring and crush resistance. Identification and printing tape complete the cable for installation and maintenance.
